Great Lakes Tributary Fishing Trips

Large, powerful Great Lakes trout and salmon make feeding and spawning migrations into Wisconsin’s many tributaries in spring and fall providing a unique chance to catch BIG, powerful fish on light tackle!  Our Great Lakes tributary trips for steelhead and brown trout are an excellent change of pace from traditional inland fishing!  Whether you are looking to catch your first Great Lakes brown trout or steelhead or your 100th, Capt. Jeff Van Remortel WILL show you tactics and techniques that out-produce conventional methods HANDS DOWN!

Typical outings result in anywhere from 5 to 15 fish landed and many more hookups.  High quality, custom made floats, jigs and tie patterns are the key to success for these notoriously finicky fish!  We use only the best drift rods (St Croix), reels and terminal tackle to ensure you get the most out of every battle.  Ice fishing and open water trips are available from December through the end of April.  Please call or email for availability and  flow conditions to assist you in planning your trip to take advantage of the “run”!

No matter what your experience level, you WILL benefit from a trip with WDH Guide Service. You will learn refined tactics that produce big trout and salmon!  All rods, reels, and baits will be provided though clients are welcome to bring their own.

Items to bring include: a valid Wisconsin fishing license, Great Lakes Trout Stamp, waders/boots, polarized sunglasses, seasonally appropriate clothing,  brimmed hat, drinks, snacks and of course, a camera!
